Bridge Built Amid Severe Flooding in Banteay Meanchey

Banteay Meanchey: Land border police forces and villagers have worked together to build a bridge in Banteay Meanchey’s Malai district, with the province experiencing severe flooding due to heavy rainfall. Banteay Meanchey Provincial Police Commissioner Lieutenant General Sithi Loh supervised the bridge-building on Monday afternoon.

A total of 20 police headquarters joined forces to help. They also relieved blockages in waterways so that the flood waters would not stagnate. The Lieutenant General has called on residents, especially those with young children and elderly parents to be on the lookout for more flooding and report any immediately to authorities for evacuation.

At the same time, the Serey Sophorn Municipality and Mongkul Borei Bam District Administration have also issued a flood warning for those living along the area’s main river. Heavy rain is forecast for the next 36 hours.
